Procedure for Considering Complaints of Violations of Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics

The editors of the scientific and technical collection "Cutting and Tools in Technological Systems" inform the authors that they are fully personally responsible for incorrect borrowing or use of the results of other persons' research and compliance with the ethics of scientific citation. Only original materials that have not been published before are accepted for publication.

Authors must ensure:

  • originality of the submitted articles, i.e. materials that have not been published in other publications in any languages;
  • no plagiarism;
  • references to relevant sources, if works or texts of third parties are used.

The collection "Cutting and Tools in Technological Systems" uses the "StrikePlagiarism.com" software to control and detect textual borrowing in submitted manuscripts. The percentage of plagiarism is calculated using software that checks documents for borrowings both in the local database and on the Internet. The resulting report is analyzed by the editorial board.

The editorial board of the journal analyzes all cases of recorded plagiarism and reserves the right not to admit the manuscript to the peer review process. Scientific papers received by the editorial board of the journal are analyzed according to the following indicators:

  • if the originality of the text of the manuscript is more than 85%, the material is allowed for consideration;
  • if the originality of the work is from 60 to 85%, the scientific work is returned to the authors for revision with a recommendation to revise the textual borrowings and resend the article in the corrected document;
  • less than 60% – the manuscript is not accepted for consideration.

Plagiarism in all forms is unacceptable and is considered as a manifestation of unethical actions and a violation of the system of norms of professional behavior in the relations of authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provisions of the section Publication Ethics. If the fact of textual borrowing was recorded after publication, then the editorial board conducts a thorough analysis of it.  that have arisen. Depending on the amount of plagiarism, the document may also be deleted from the log database.
